Dear Canine Companion Guardian,
Moongazer Dog Training is excited to host the world-renown dog expert
John Rogerson for a
five day training and instructing course! We
encourage you to join us for this special event during May 21-25, 2009.
At Moongazer, our philosophy is to assist you in learning to understand
your relationship with your pet and improve it. All of our
classes and private training sessions focus on being fair,
kind and consistent in order to communicate to your pet your
expectations.
Our John Rogerson Training & Instructing Course is no exception!
Just like at Moongazer, John will assist you in training your assigned
shelter/rescue dog with humane, gentle, positive techniques that your
companion can learn from and comprehend.
Through teaching your assigned shelter/rescue dog new activities, your
companion will have a medium for understanding what behaviors are
acceptable. In addition, you will be able to spend time strengthening
your relationship with dogs and less time being frustrated with
unacceptable behaviors that are difficult to control.
Please read through our course description and consider joining
Moongazer Canine Companion Training's
John Rogerson Five Day Training &
Instructing Course!
Sincerely,
Lisa R. McCluskey, BS, CPDT

- This is a course that is essential for anyone who is either instructing or about to begin instructing in training classes. It is also essential for anyone engaged in canine Behaviour Therapy as it examines training techniques which may be used as part of a behaviour modification programme.
- The course correctly examines all of the issues involved in the modern reward based training systems, so misunderstood and abused by many instructors practicing today.
- Both learning theory and practical applications are taught to students who will be working with rescue dogs during the course.
- There will be an opportunity to judge a competition and put the rescue dog that you will be working with on this course through the British KC good Citizen scheme.
Am I Experienced Enough to Take This Course?
A little prior experience in dog training, a basic understanding of how a dog thinks, some handling experience, a huge amount of enthusiasm, 5 days of free time and the ability to get along with others and work in a small team is imperative to be successful on this course.

- Your ability to handle and read dogs?
- Have you ever worked (even as a volunteer) at a shelter taking dogs out of kennels or as a dog walker?
- Do you handle dogs on a regular basis maybe as veterinary technician or even a breed show handler?
